Monday, 3pm. I'm sitting at my desk feeling rough. I've had a cold for a day. My throat hurts, I can't breathe properly, and I've got a headache. I'm shivering on a warm summer's day. I can't work - I've got man flu. What to do? I know: pass out at my desk. The world pixelates. An instant later I open my eyes to find I'm on the floor with DC and Batman standing over me.
This isn't the first time in recent history. About a month ago I almost didn't pass out and a month before that I'd got the same "you're about to pass out" warning when running under a hot Sun. Okay, getting faint while running in the heat can be dismissed as a symptom of stupidity and almost not passing out (again on a hot day) can be ignored, but Monday's crash had witnesses. It's off to the doc' this morning.
The cold's almost gone (throat still sore, but little else other than a sweat soaked bed to show) and I've consumed enough sugar in the past 12-hours to bring down an obese schoolchild. I guess for the doctor this will be like one of those helpdesk calls when you're asked to fix something that's currently working.
